IS YOUR CBD OIL NOT WORKING?
Trying to choose the right CBD product? Have you tried CBD before and it didn’t work? It may be because you did not select the right CBD product. Or maybe your dose was too small. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to be an informed consumer and make sure you are getting what you pay for...
THE PROBLEM WITH THE CBD INDUSTRY
There are hundreds of CBD companies out there with new ones popping up every day. Making the right decision for you and your wallet takes a little research. In a nascent, unregulated industry, the reality is that some “CBD” products have little to no CBD in them. In fact, the FDA evaluated CBD products in 2015 and 2016. They found that 22 out of 24 products did not have the levels of CBD advertised on their label. A follow-up study, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association in 2017, revealed not much progress has been made, as 70% of CBD products do not match their label. Transparency is key, but it is currently the exception and not the rule.
STEP 1: DO THEY HAVE A LAB CERTIFICATE
To ensure you are getting what you pay for, ask the CBD company for a certificate of analysis (COA). Any reputable company will provide this when asked, and the best companies make COAs readily available on their websites. This COA must be objective and be done by a reputable, third-party laboratory (like Phytovista Laboratories ).
STEP 2: CHECK TO SEE IF THE CBD MATCHES THE LABEL
Does the number of cannabinoids match the label? If not, it may be because the company is bogus. Or it could be that the company labelling for milligrams of CBD oil instead of whole bottle rather than the weaker concentration levels. They aren’t doing anything wrong, necessarily, but there is no uniform way to label across the industry…yet. A certificate of analysis will help you best determine the value and allow a true price comparison.
STEP 3: FINDING THE PERFECT DOSE/STRENGTH
By now, you’ve selected your CBD product. It’s time to find your optimal dose. Dosing for CBD is highly individualized and depends on many factors, including personal endocannabinoid tone and why you are using CBD.
The reality is it may take some time to identify what works best for you. We recommend that adults start at 2-4 drogs a day of CBD Oil. It’s best to start after dinner and about 3-4 hours before bedtime for two reasons: 1. You will probably get a great night’s sleep! 2. Although rare, some people experience drowsiness from CBD. If this happens to you, then taking it at night won’t ruin your day. Next, use the same starting dose for 2-3 days. If you choose, you can titrate up slowly from here, add an extra drop with one of your meals. Once you do not experience additional benefits from a higher dose, you can go back to the previous dose. This means you’ll have to exceed your optimal dose in order to identify it.
Dont be afraid to expreiment, you cannot dangerously overdose on CBD. Even the World Health Organization (WHO) stated that CBD is considered safe in that it does not pose a public health risk and it is not associated with abuse potential
STEP 4: ONLY BUY FULL SPECTRUM
Is the product isolate or full spectrum? Isolate means that the product contains just the isolated molecule, CBD. Full spectrum means the product has CBD, other active cannabinoids (such as CBN, CBG, CBC etc.), terpenes, flavonoids, omega-3s and omega-6s that naturally occur in the plant. This is important because all of these other compounds have therapeutic value. For example, the terpene known as beta-caryophyllene has well established anti-inflammatory, neuroprotective, pain-relieving properties . And plant derived omegas, such as linolenic acids, have cardiovascular benefits
Also, full spectrum allows for the “entourage effect,” in which the compounds work synergistically to promote a greater response at a lower dose. In fact, research supports that full spectrum CBD is more effective than isolate CBD,.
STEP 5: BEFORE BUYING - ASK THESE QUESTIONS.
During our time in the industry we have seen many of the FAKE CBD OILS on the UK market and they are normally very easy to spot if you follow these simple rules:
1) - Can they provide a valid UK Lab Report showing what’s in the bottle?
2) - Do they show you the full information on the bottles - % Dilution and MG together?
3) - Is the bottle bigger than 10ml? Bigger 15ml/30ml bottles normally mean a weaker watered-down version of a poor quality CBD oil to start with = PLACEBO!!!
4) - Is the CBD oil too cheap or do they have special offers like buy 2 get 1 free for £14.99…? As we grow and make our own Hello Hemp CBD oil we know the true costs involved and when we see offers like the above on eBay & Amazon we do wonder what is actually in the bottles as we would struggle to even get to them prices and we control the whole operation.
Good/Quality CBD oil should NOT be expensive - Hello Hemp CBD oil will always retail at 50% LESS than the major brands in this industry as we know the real costs of making and producing good quality CBD oil and feel the UK CBD oil rrp is too high and making CBD oil not affordable to the general public
